This set of eight dining chairs was designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa for Gavina in Italy in 1973. True to the Scarpa duo's signature geometric style, the chairs boast an ergonomic plywood seat and backrest, and a strong, sturdy structure that's accentuated by visible iron screws on the legs. Afra Bianchin (1937-2011) and Tobia Scarpa (1935) began collaborating in 1957, and their partnership led to numerous innovative projects involving the combination of different materials and shapes. They worked with renowned companies like Gavina, B&B Italia, and Cassina. Their designs have been exhibited in major museums all over the world, including the MoMA in New York and the Musée du Louvre in Paris. Our workshop has carefully restored the chairs, which exhibit slight signs of use and age that only enhance their appeal.
