Tobia Scarpa, born in Venice in 1935, and his wife Afra, who worked at the Venini glass factory, established their own design studio in Montebelluna in the 1960s. They subsequently collaborated with notable names such as Knoll, B&B Italia, Flos and Cassina. Their creations are renowned for their simplicity, elegance, and modern aesthetic. Maxalto, a premium division of B&B Italia founded in 1975, produces artisanal, primarily wooden furniture. Tobia & Afra have also designed for a variety of companies globally and completed interior projects for numerous establishments.
