In 1973, Afra & Tobia Scarpa created the Dessau chair for B&B Italia as a tribute to Walter Gropius, the founder of the Bauhaus design movement. The chair is named after the city where the iconic Bauhaus building is located. The curved tubular steel frame of the chair forms a cantilever base and integrated armrests.
