In the 1970s, Cassina of Italy commissioned Afra and Tobia Scarpa to create the Soriana collection, which aimed to intertwine beauty and comfort. The first piece, the Soriana Chair, won the Compasso D'oro award in 1969, and used a bundle of fabric held together by a chrome-plated steel clamp. This particular set includes two lounge chairs upholstered in reupholstered cognac aniline leather. The design would complement both a Hollywood Regency-inspired interior with various eclectic items, or a monochromatic minimalist style inspired by Maria Pergay.
