As part of adidas' A-ZX series, the brand launched the adidas ZX 9000 Concepts which features a distinct sneaker for each letter of the alphabet. This shoe pays homage to the Boston Marathon with its use of shimmering material, reflective of the emergency blanket given to runners who complete the race. Since Concepts is a Boston-based brand, it makes perfect sense to include this tribute in the shoe's design. The adidas ZX 9000 Concepts uses a unique material for its upper, replacing the conventional leather with a reflective and shiny foil-like material. Complementary to this upper, the shoe comes in white, navy blue, and red, adding a touch of color to the design. With an asymmetrical design, the left side features three stripes while the right side has one stripe and a red patch on its midsole. The shoe also highlights the adidas logo in navy blue on the tongue. The GLINT website offered the adidas ZX 9000 Concepts for purchase at the retail price of $140. It was launched in September 2020 and became an instant hit among sneaker enthusiasts.
